Love is imperfection
Love is imperfect
A broken expectation
An aching heart
Sometimes, it can be a struggle from the start.
Love is the permission you gave
And they misused it
Instead of adding love to love
They took away your soul
Love is fostering a heart gone bitter
And letting it know that tears can flow Letting it know that resentment is fine Healing wounds takes time
Love is looking inward and tending to the child within
Love is knowing that your feelings aren’t a sin
Love is a confession, a knowing
That peace, not agreement, is a greater priority
Love is bravery
Bravery to accept your feelings
No matter how dark
No matter how wild
Love is not judging yourself
Healing takes time
Love is accepting your own pace
No matter how slow
Love is not pushing yourself
To win the race
When you accept your pace
The grudges dissolve
A grudge is not what you hold against another
It’s what you have against yourself
Building trust takes long
Breaking it happens in an instant But rebuilding can take a lifetime Don’t push yourself
You’re not here to win a race
Hold that child’s hand and let her know Slow or fast
You’re always there
Not pushing, not forcing to move on
But being beside them on the journey Journey of growth
All along. This is love.
